On 28th of January, PLEASE don’t accidentally offend people by saying Happy Chinese New Year to any Asian you bump into. Even the Chinese don’t say it. It’s called:
Chun Jie (spring festival) in China,
Tet (weather) in Vietnam,
Tsagaan Sar (white moon) in Mongolia,
Losar (new year) in Tibet, and
Seollal (new year) in Korea.
If you prefer a one-size-fit-all approach, “HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR” works like a charm.
